A picture of my shadow

I have been given a shadow from God,

Not the silhouette which blocks the light

when it shines past my frame...no,

But just like that silhouette, it comes with me

where-ever I go,

It is my cross to bare, that was passed on to me unknowingly,

and though I wish it had never came to be,

like the nightmare that brings itself to reality, it is,

As am I,and yes, though it is with me, I still live,

and will keep living,

And growing, and being, as I reach beyond the stars

and into the heavens for my peace,

My relief comes from within, the ability that was

instilled in me to give, this is my blessing,

But it took a thorn in my side to wake me up to see,

that it's not, nor has it ever been about me,

Just who I came here to be....

Which is not just a man who has contracted a disease,

But a man who has been freed from his own dis-ease....

That is the shadow that God has given me,

Vision in a place only blind eyes can see......
