Host: Virus infects plants.
Genome: RNA. Single stranded. Linear; genomic nucleic acid positive sense. Genome monopartite, or bipartite (in some species). Total genome 8500-10000 nucleotides long. 5' terminus has a genome-linked protein (VPg). 3' terminus has a poly (A) tract. Genome divided among more than one type of particle; that is two different types.
Morphology: Virions not enveloped. Virions one type of particle only, or more than one type of particle; different in size and range. Capsids filamentous; nucleocapsids usually flexuous; nucleocapsids with no clear modal length; nucleocapsids 680-900 nm long, or 500-600 nm long; nucleocapsids 200-300 nm; nucleocapsids 12-15 nm in diameter. Symmetry helical. Pitch of helix 3.4 nm.
