The Postdoctoral Fellow / Research Fellow will work on a newly funded project in the laboratory of Prof. David Tscharke at the John Curtin School of medical Research. The project combines molecular virology, sophisticated in vivo models and transcriptional profiling (RNAseq) to explore the role of viral gene expression during herpes simplex virus latency. This work is supported by two recent publications in PLoS Pathogens and also involves a collaboration to further extend the study to include human cells and samples.

If you hold a PhD in virology or a related biomedical discipline, have evidence of your enthusiasm and productivity, and have experience with some or all of the following:
•        Molecular biology and especially making recombinant viruses
•        In vivo models of infection and immunity
•        Analysis of RNAseq data
We would welcome an application from you.

This 3 year fixed-term position is open at two levels (A & B) depending on level of experience and evidence of productivity. Level A AUD$68,307 – $86,646; Level B AUD $94,287 - $107,381. All postdocs are considered academic staff in Australia.
