Description
A Postdoctoral Associate position is available to investigate the viral and cellular factors that are critical for the replication of influenza A virus and live, attenuated influenza vaccine strains in primary respiratory epithelial cell cultures. Primary duties and responsibilities will include: generating recombinant influenza A viruses with defined mutations in viral genes, investigating virus replication in primary human and animal respiratory epithelial cell cultures and identifying cellular factors that affect virus replication. Seasonal human influenza A virus strains and live, attenuated vaccine strains will be used. Skills
Qualifications include a PhD degree in biology, chemistry or related field and experience with basic techniques in virus culture, microscopy (live cell imaging and confocal), cell biology and cell culture. Effective organizational and communication skills are required.
