Description
The Spiegel lab at Yale University (spiegellab.yale.edu) focuses on developing small-molecule-based approaches to harness the human immune system in fighting disease. As a result, much of the research in the lab is conducted at the interface between organic chemistry and immunology. The lab has made important advances in both basic and applied areas of science including oncology, virology (HIV), aging, and bacteriology. These diverse research interests have led to entrepreneurial spin-offs as well. We are looking for a passionate and highly motivated individual to support our current research programs by:

Expediting the writing of scientific manuscripts, grant applications, and business summaries

Fostering and maintaining academic and industrial collaborations
Assisting in high-level administrative activities

Facilitating project and personnel management


This is a unique position for an individual with diverse interests and a passion for translating research at the bench into the clinic. The position will help the candidate develop much coveted skills in science communication, project management, research communications, and research administration. The appointee will be able to develop a unique professional narrative that can facilitate access to a diverse set of careers.

Skills
QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
Ability to work in a team, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, effective time management, and capacity to work under deadlines to complete projects at a high level of quality
Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field with 0-4 years of experience (M.S. level scientists may be considered depending on qualifications and experience) and strong background in scientific research

Proven experience with PowerPoint, Keynote, and Adobe suites
