We are seeking a very well experienced laboratory technician with an entrepreneurial spirit who would like to see their work translated into a commercial product. They will work in a state of the art facility surrounded by biotechnology thought-leaders.

Salary will be highly competitive with a full benefits package. In addition, as part of a StartUpNY company, employees will be exempt from NY State Income Tax for 10 years.



-Should have at least a bachelors degree (masters degree preferred)

-At least 5 years of work experience

-At least 1 publication to which they have made a major contribution

-Expertise working with viruses

-Expertise working with cell culture


Perform experiments to generate data for product development and possibly patent filings and scientific publications
May make detailed observations, analyse data and interpret results.
May write experimental reports, summaries and protocols.
Maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies.
Works on assignments that may be complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations.
Performs troubleshooting and calibration of instruments.
Maintain reagents, equipment and consumables stock, ordering supplies when required.
Carry out daily tasks, including temperature monitoring, animal checks and general housekeeping within the area.
May also be responsible for media preparation in the research and development area, including experiments as required and outlined.
May also develop and maintain record keeping for experiments performed.
May do glass washing.
May be asked to act as a mentor to and provide basic training to new starters.
Operate to all relevant work instructions at a non-supervised level and ensure full compliance to achieve competence for themselves and the individuals in their assigned areas.
All employees are expected to take reasonable care of their own safety and others in accordance with OSHA guidelines; including maintaining a safe working environment, reporting any hazards and ensuring the correct use and operation of protective clothing and equipment.
Responsible for their conduct within the laboratory environment and as such are expected to behave in a conscientious, professional manner at all times.
Carry out tasks in accordance with company work instructions and procedures; ensuring quality and accuracy of own work.
Carry out additional tasks as and when required by management.
