We are currently looking to recruit an Immunology /Virology specialist to support laboratory operations in Liverpool. The role includes providing expert technical and analytical support to the Quality Control function and Site including instrumentation and methodology troubleshooting, non-routine analysis, and the evaluation and exploitation of new technology. The successful applicant will lead significant Quality Control investigations and change programs including introduction of new methods and technologies. The individual should be qualified to graduate level/or equivalent in a scientific discipline, with significant experience of working in a laboratory environment.

Some of the additional responsibilities include:

Is a subject matter expert in an appropriate Quality Control Scientific or Technical discipline. Experience and knowledge of immunology, cell based assays.
Provides expert technical knowledge and support to the Quality Control Function and to the site – troubleshooting issues and delivering training and coaching to the Analysts within the group.
Provide expert technical support to maintain cGMP testing in support of out Of specifications (OOS) investigations and Non-conformance investigations.
Introduces and embeds new technology/systems into the Quality Control Function ensuring that the Quality Control function remains contemporary and competitive.
Leads/Supports method validation activities and the analytical technology transfer of Quality Control methodology into and out of Operations, including the design of transfer protocols and strategies.
Uses expert knowledge to deliver direct support to regulatory inspections, and to author and review of regulatory documents and submissions.
Writes and execution of key protocols and reports.

Skills
Essential Requirements

Experienced QC analyst
Technical Subject matter expert in Immunology, Virology and/or cell based assays
Understanding of Quality Control testing techniques.
Effective problem solving skills, lead investigator expertise required.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles and concepts of compliance management and Good Manufacturing Practice / Good Laboratory Practice
