Description
The Sather laboratory at the Center for Infectious Disease Research is seeking an outstanding, highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to conduct research investigating viral and vaccine immunology in the settings of HIV-1 and Malaria vaccine research. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team that is investigating functional B cell-mediated immunity generated during natural infection and during vaccination with protein subunit vaccines. We seek to understand how protective antibody responses (which are often only a small part of overall antibody responses) develop in the context of the complex milieu of immune regulation, T cell help and changing population repertoire dynamics. Our overall goal is to understand how protective antibody responses are generated, maintained and recalled in order to inform the development of new vaccines and vaccine regimens.

While candidates with backgrounds in infectious disease or immunological research are welcome, we encourage all highly motivated candidates with varied research backgrounds to apply. We are looking for individuals who are ambitious, good problem solvers, and have a willingness to learn.   The right candidate will receive outstanding support, training, and mentorship.
