CHAIR Department of Microbiology and Immunology
The Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is seeking an academic leader to serve as Chair of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and Director of the H.M. Bligh Cancer Research Laboratories. This individual will be responsible for the continued advancement of the research, educational, and service activities of the department, as well as the continued development of collaborations throughout the university. Candidates should have extensive research accomplishments and substantial research support, have proven leadership ability, have an established record of training students and postdoctoral fellows, and be interested in leading the Department in the above areas. Preference will be given to investigators with research programs in tumor immunology, viral oncology, or cancer-related inflammation. Resources are available for the continued development of the department, including recruitment of new faculty. Ample collaborative opportunities exist with other departments and schools within RFUMS. The department is actively engaged in teaching students in both the Medical School and the basic sciences Interdisciplinary Graduate Program. Applicants must have a PhD, MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree and be eligible for the rank of full Professor with tenure.
