Studies in Natural Host Resistance to HIV-1
Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, NY
Highly motivated, ambitious, driven and talented postdoctoral fellow are sought to join a research program that studies the block of HIV-1 replication by natural restriction factors. Our program has made important contributions to the mechanism used by several restriction factors to block HIV-1 infection. The individual is expected to join a fast pace moving environment. The laboratory is located in the new Price Center Building, a recently constructed state-of-the-art biomedical research facility centrally located on the campus of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. Funding is currently available for up to 3 years, with the possibility of further extensions.
This program aims to gain biochemical and cellular biological understanding of the mechanism by which the novel restriction factors Serinc5 and SAMHD1 block HIV-1 replication. Requirements: 1) recent PhD or MD/Ph.D degree, 2) experience in molecular biology (cloning), 3) mice immuno-biology, and 4) tissue culture of mammalian cells. Applicants must have at least 1 paper in a peered reviewed journal.
Please send a CV, and names for up to three references by email to Felipe Diaz-Griffero (
