Description
A new multi year post-doctoral position is available for an exciting newly funded NIH project on understanding HCMV latency and its role in serious disease in the transplant setting. In vitro and in vivo studies will be undertaken to examine the mechanisms of HCMV latency. Applicants will examine the cellular and molecular biology of human progenitor and human blood cells on a cellular level as well as a systems level to define new mechanisms of latency and to provide a new understanding of HCMV disease in solid organ and bone marrow transplant patients.

Skills
A general background in molecular and cellular biology, immunology and/or virology is suggested.

Notes
An NIH pay scale will be used and salary will be appropriate to the experience of the applicant. Vacation and sick leave are included as per university policy. The fellow will be provided generous opportunities to develop grant writing, manuscript writing and oral presentation skills. In addition, the trainee will be provided opportunities to attend national and international meetings.
