Description
Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the lab of Professor Anne Simon at the University of Maryland to investigate novel regulation of cap-independent translation and the switch between translation and replication using Pea enation mosaic virus and other plus-strand RNA viruses. Postdoctoral associate will have the opportunity to participate in the multi-institutional Virology Program (with NIH and NCI), which features monthly group research meetings and career workshops. Previous graduate students and postdoctoral associates in the Simon lab have obtained faculty positions at Shandong Agricultural University (China), Wuhan Medical University (China), Case Western University (USA), Mt. Sinai Medical School (USA), University of Kentucky (USA), Yonsei University (Korea) and other outstanding positions in industry and government. Skills
Candidates should have excellent graduate research published in international journals, and have proven ability to conduct independent research. Highly motivated candidates with experience in RNA structure/function, protein/RNA interactions, protein translation, and/or RNA viruses are encouraged to apply.
