Post-Doctoral Associate Position, Arbovirus Laboratory, Wadsworth Center
A Post-Doctoral position is available in the Arbovirus Laboratory, Wadsworth Center, New York State Department of Health. Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in Biology, Microbiology or a related field. Duties include designing and performing experiments in the areas of arbovirology, vector biology, vector-virus interactions and vector and viral genetics.
Candidates should have a record of scientific rigor, creativity, and ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary research team. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
Preferred qualifications for position include: experience in vector biology, virology and molecular biology; experience working with arthropods and/or arthropod-borne pathogens; and experience working in a BSL-2 and/or BSL-3 laboratory. Knowledge of genetic analyses and/or biostatistics is preferred.
The Wadsworth Center is a division of the New York State Department of Health, located in Albany, NY, and includes academic programs from the University at Albany, School of Public Health. The Wadsworth Center houses state-of-the-art core facilities in molecular and structural biology, genomics and bioinformatics.
