An NIH-funded position for a qualified postdoctoral fellow is available in the laboratory of Anthony Nicola at Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine to study the cellular mechanisms of herpes simplex virus entry into host cells. The Nicola laboratory investigates the viral and cellular factors that mediate viral internalization, transport, and membrane fusion in epithelial cells and neurons. The postdoctoral scientist will have the opportunity to present findings at university, regional, national, and international meetings.

The position requires a self-motivated individual with a Ph.D. and expertise in virology, molecular cell biology and/or biochemistry and a track record of impactful publications. The successful candidate will conduct experiments, analyze data, and assist with manuscript preparation. The scientist will also be expected to mentor and manage junior laboratory researchers. Must have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
