Description A postdoctoral position is available in the Gallagher laboratory at Loyola University Chicago. The projects are to identify infection mechanisms and pathogenicity determinants of zoonotic coronaviruses. The studies will utilize reverse genetics, virus evolution, next generation sequencing and several biochemical and cell biological approaches to evaluate virus-cell entry. The research will be within a highly collaborative program project on coronavirus biology.
Skills Candidates should have skills in molecular and cellular biology and experience working with viruses. Preference will be for individuals who work well in a team.
Notes The Loyola University Chicago Department of Microbiology and Immunology has a vibrant virology program, with four interactive virology lab groups, stimulating weekly department-wide research meetings and invited seminar series.
