We have a Postdoctoral position available immediately at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine to explore the intersection of virology, immunology and clinical factors involved with HIV+ to HIV+ kidney and liver transplantation. The successful candidate will work primarily with the Core lab team, but will interact on a regular basis with the HOPE (HIV Organ Policy Equity Act) in Action clinical and analysis teams as well.

The work will initially include utilizing techniques in next-generation sequencing, laser capture microdissection, and single-cell genomic analysis. Previous molecular biology experience is required, and experience in any of these techniques would be a plus.
The applicant should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree, demonstrated successful research experience and publication record, and works well in a team. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential.

After the initial projects the possibilities for future research on the immunology, virology, and pathology in this project are numerous.
The position is extremely well-funded, and ideal for a candidate interested in pursuing a K-training grant. Therefore, the position could be a good jumping off point for an independent career for a new PhD graduate, or even someone with a couple years of post-doc experience.
