Department of Veterinary Medicine at University of Maryland is seeking for qualified individuals for one non-tenure track faculty position as Postdoctoral Research Associates.

Primary responsibilities include:

The Research Associate will be required to assist Principal Investigator with successful execution of extramurally funded research program in the laboratory. The specific responsibilities include design, execute and analyze experiments aimed to understand molecular pathogenesis of avian influenza viruses and vaccine development. Additional and general job responsibilities include presentation of scientific data, preparation of manuscripts and routine assistance with managing the laboratory.

Highly motivated and creative scientists with a good publication record and strong interest in pursuing the molecular mechanisms of viral pathogenesis and host-virus interactions. Candidates with experience with handling avian and mammalian species and biosafety level-3 facility (BSL-3).

Minimum requirements:

Ph.D. /D.V.M. or Ph.D. degree.

The successful candidates will have a strong background of research in Virology and Molecular Biology.
