CSIR-IMTECH is its youngest institute with state-of-the art research facilitates in microbial biology and biotechnology. CSIR-IMTECH thrives on multidisciplinary research with core strengths in the areas of biochemical engineering, protein sciences, bioinformatics and Infection & Immunity research and early drug discovery & development. CSIR-IMTECH has track record of discovering novel bio-therapeutics.

            The Institute is planning to set-up translational platforms towards new drug discovery and strengthen the core areas of drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, biochemical engineering and establish new disease focused divisions with clear objectives.

CSIR-IMTECH seeks candidates of international standing for various scientific open positions and research faculties. We aim to develop next generation drug discovery tools and technology platforms. We are seeking following expertise:

Skills
3. Virology

Key Objectives and Responsibilities: The successful candidates are expected to conduct world-class research in an area of virology and viral diseases as part of the Virology Unit. We are particularly interested to seek candidates with experience in Dengue, Influenza and viral Hepatitis. Candidates with outstanding track record and experience in developing viral assays and different viral animal models is a must. The research profile includes evaluation and validation of new molecular targets; understanding mechanism of action of potential anti-viral compounds and developing state of art molecular virology tools.

Principal Scientist

The candidate will head the Virology Discovery Unit.

Essentials:

Ph.D. (Biological Science) with strong emphasis on Virology or viral diseases with 3 years relevant experience

Desirable:

•          Hands on experience with viral assays and viral animal models, especially in dengue/viral hepatitis.

•          Industry experience preferably in small molecule antiviral drug discovery

•          Excellent team and communication skills

•          Good organizational skills and ability to work independently

Senior Scientist

Essentials:

Ph.D. (Biological Science) with strong emphasis on Virology or viral diseases and 2 years relevant experience.

Desirable:

•          Hands on experience with viral assays and viral animal models

•          Industry experience preferably in small molecule drug discovery

•          Excellent team and communication skills

•          Good organizational skills and ability to work independently
