The newly-formed Patton laboratory ( is a seeking an enthusiastic laboratory technician to join a research team pursuing studies on rotaviruses, pathogens that are major causes of life-threatening gastroenteritis in infants and young children. The ideal person will have an interest in host-pathogen interactions and a desire to work and develop skills as a researcher while helping to manage the day-to-day operations of the laboratory.

- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field.
- Experience in microbiology (virology), molecular biology, or biochemistry techniques
(e.g., mammalian cell culture, propagation and titration of viruses, cloning, plasmid purification
   and sequencing, RT-PCR, SDS-PAGE)
- Interest in a research career and developing new research skills.
-Ability to work independently and productively, with minimal supervision.
-Strong organizational skills, able to plan tasks and manage time effectively.
-Communicates effectively with strong writing skills.
-Proficient computer skills
