Basic qualifications:
•        BS degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience OR a MS degree with 5 years of experience in biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
•        Experience with conducting Pharmacokinetic in vitro and in vivo studies, interpretation and analysis of the data and presentation of the results.
•        Familiarity with LC/MS analytical techniques and working experience with other routine analytical and biophysical techniques such as spectroscopy.

Preferred qualifications:
•        BS or MS degree focused in chemistry, biochemistry or biology
•        Experience with Pharmacokinetic software programs such as WinNonlin to calculate pharmacokinetic parameters
•        Knowledge and hands-on experience with cellular, sub-cellular, enzymatic and related biochemical methods used for characterization of potential drug-drug interactions, as well as metabolite identification and characterization.
•        Some experience with LC/MS LC/TOF/MS and LC/MS/MS quantitation of small molecules would be desirable.

ViiV Healthcare is a company focused exclusively on discovery, development and commercialization of medicines for the treatment or prevention of HIV. We are in the process of establishing a new R&D site in Connecticut for our research and development staff currently leasing space at Bristol-Myers Squibb’s (BMS) facility in Wallingford, CT. In July 2017 we anticipate moving into a newly renovated facility in Branford, CT where we will operate as ViiV Healthcare’s 3rd largest location. Our new facility will comprise of approximately 21,000 sq ft of lab and office space, and will have state-of-the-art laboratories for biology, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, biochemistry, cell biology and virology. We are seeking an experienced scientist in the area of ADMET to support drug candidate optimization/selection.

Job Description:
•        Develop, validate and conduct in vitro studies, such as microsomal stability, CYP450 inhibition and induction and protein binding to support discovery and development programs
•        Develop mass spec based methods (e.g. LC/MS and LC/MS/MS) and perform analysis for the characterization and quantitation of small molecules, as well as evaluation of therapeutic proteins, including protein digestion and peptide separation and quantitation.
•        Work with CRO’s to conduct in vivo PK studies; use appropriate Pharmacokinetic software to analyze results, prepare documents and present data.
•        Write and review non GLP protocols and SOPs
•        Conduct cell culture studies using primary cells and cell lines.
•        Develop exploratory biomarker assays for safety or efficacy studies.
•        Develop and conduct metabolite ID studies using cellular and subcellular fraction; utilize LC/MS instrumentation in the determination of metabolites.
•        Participate as part of a highly collaborative and focused team.
•        A highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
•        An instinctive team player with excellent people skills.
