A postdoctoral position is immediately available for highly motivated candidates with strong interest in RNAi mediated virus-host interaction. The successful applicant will be working on an NIH-funded project that aims to better understand how viruses are detected and destroyed by RNAi machinery in model organism Caenorhabditis elegans. We use a combination of genetics, biochemistry and bioinformatics approaches to identify and characterize novel worm genes involved in antiviral RNAi. Ideal candidates are expected to have strong background in molecular virology, biochemistry, genetics and/or bioinformatics, and excellent writing and communication skills. Experience with worm genetics is a plus but not essential. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

Applicants should have a fresh PhD or MD/PhD degree and demonstrated research experience and good publication record.

Interested applicants please send your CV, brief statement of research experience/future interests and contact information for three references to Dr. Rui Lu in a single pdf.
