Description
Two postdoc positions – one in virology and one in quantitative biology/biophysics – are available in the laboratory of Prof. Tijana Ivanovic at Brandeis University. Ivanovic lab does cutting edge research on viral cell entry in the context of influenza virus and reovirus. The candidates will help build an interdisciplinary team of researchers working on questions of mechanistic adaptations that cause viral pandemics or result in resistance to antivirals. Located 7 miles from Boston, Brandeis offers world-class research in the setting of a liberal-arts university, along with being part of the vibrant research community of the greater Boston area.

Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, a detailed curriculum vitae and the names of three references. Review of applications is ongoing. For more information about the lab see the lab webpage at http://www.tijanaivanovic.net.

Skills
We are looking for independent and motivated individuals who hold a Ph.D. degree in virology, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, membrane biology, or a related discipline. Individuals interested in fundamental design principles of biological structures and processes, as well as those interested in the applied aspects of the mechanism-inspired inhibition of virus cell-entry are equally encouraged to apply. The successful applicant should have a proven ability for outstanding research that is reflected in their publication record.
