Description
The division is inviting applications for the position of a group leader (assistant professor equivalent) in Flavivirus Biology. We seek outstanding candidates who are asking fundamental questions in areas of beneficial and adverse immune responses, pathogenesis mechanisms, or safety and efficacy of innovative vaccination strategies.

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a cutting-edge, externally funded research program that synergizes with the institute’s research priorities on pathogen-host interactions and experimental vaccines, therapies, and diagnostics.

Skills
•Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent)
•A Minimum of three years postdoctoral training
•Strong record of peer-reviewed publications
•Evidence of ability to obtain research funding is strongly recommended
•Written and spoken English language skills at C1 level
•International work experience and established collaborations as well as an interest in regulatory aspects are desired


Notes
A highly competitive start-up package is offered. BSL3 containment facilities are availaible, and university affiliation and habilitation are possible. The position is limited to 5 years. The standard working week is 39 hours; part-time work is possible in principle.
